After seceding from the former Soviet Union, the nation of Rumekistan was torn by sectarian and religious strife for many years. Seizing the opportunity, the anarchist Flag-Smasher and his ULTIMATUM terrorist group sought to invade the country. During the ensuing anarchy, the V-Battalion’s operative Citizen V brokered a deal with Flag-Smasher, allowing him to accomplish a bloodless coup of the country by using the V-Battalion’s Vanguard ship to induce the people to sleep in the populace. The Rumeki people awoke to find themselves with a new ruler who soon proved to be even more ruthless than his predecessor, creating a military state where there were no prohibitions on alcohol or narcotics yet the teaching of history was banned due to its promoting misguided nationalism. Barjñov serves as Rumekistan’s capital city.
