Jessica Drew walked down the streets of New York. The hustle and bustle of people trying to get to their location somehow seemed to sooth Jessica. Her long jet black hair swirled in the wind. She pulled up her long black drench coat. After a block or so she opened the door to Club Dance.
Giving her coat to the waiter boy. Jessica swiftly walked to an empty table. Sitting there she twiddled her fingers. The lights seemed to reflect off of her light green dress. A shadow came over her she looked up to see Agent Connelly.
"Good evening Jessica," Agent Connelly said in a business like tone. "Good evening," Jessica stated back mumbling a little. They ordered drinks and sat there for a second. "You know Jessica you've been doing such a great job. You deserve a promotion of some sort," Connelly said with a bit of mocking in his voice. Jessica stared blankly at him. She was about to retort something back when she caught herself. "No thanks I'm just here to do my job," Jessica flatly replied.
"Of course, but you should keep your mind open about it," Connelly continued. Taking a drink of his beverage he said," Okay, Jessica I need the update now." Jessica looked down the looked right into his blue eyes. "There hasn't been that much going on." Connelly's eyes narrowed," Jessica, we need to know the date to date status. If you are unable to comply............." Jessica glared at him," We have just been busy with heroics thats it." Connelly leaned over the table and whispered into Jessica's ear,"There are no secrets from HYDRA, Jessica. If your lying we will know." He got up, straightening his jacket he said," We will contact you on your next meeting." With that he left through the doors.
Jessica sat there, she put her elbow on the table. Lowering her head on top of her hand. Closing her eyes she sighed. How much longer will I have to do this? How much longer do I have to live this lie. Jessica fought back tears it would make her look weak. She couldn't afford to look weak in front of HYDRA. They weren't right there in front of her. But they were watching Jessica. They always were. Watching and waiting for Jessica to mess up. Making her life harder.
A half hour later Jessica got up and walked to the door. Picking up her jacket from the waiter boy. Jessica fitted her jacket on tying the belt of the jacket. It was night now. With the bright city lights it made it seem as though there was not one single star in the sky. The temperature went down somewhat. Jessica slightly shivered. She began walking up the dirty sidewalks of New York back to Avenger's Tower. Back to her life of lies.
