Mutation: it is the key to our evolution.
As the world awakens to find itself amidst a grueling debate over mutants and their place in the world a new school opens its doors in New York. On the outside it is nothing more than Xavier's Institute for Higher Learning, an academy for the genuinely gifted, but it is really a safe haven and training house for young mutants in need of existence. The public is unaware of the true nature of this school, and if they were they would surely call for it's closure, for humanity does not look kindly on what it cannot understand.
It has enabled us to evolve from a single-celled organism into the dominant species on the planet.
One man knows all too well how humanity treats those who are different, and he refuses to let history repeat itself. With a trusted confidant, and his own children, he has formed a brotherhood. All mutants are welcome so long as they are willing to fight for what is rightfully theirs, the world. They have no need to keep themselves a secret, hiding like cowards in the night. They belong and have no problem informing the world of that fact through acts of terror.
This process is slow, and normally taking thousands and thousands of years.
Humans are struggling to hear both sides of the debate, but so many words are being twisted around that it has become difficult to discern truth from fiction. Stepping out of the shadows is a young politician in the making, voicing his own opinions loud and clear. Begotten by mutants and abandoned at birth he will stop at nothing to rid the world of the mutant problem, even if it means forsaking his own life to do so. In his eyes it is a sacrifice worth taking.
But every few hundred millennia, evolution leaps forward.
Three sides. Three visions. Three men.
Whose side are you really on?
