This is insane!” the young man silently shouted to himself, as he threw his head against his soft but supporting pillow, as he allowed his light colored eyes to pear the posters throughout his room. Even looking at these posters, which happened to be posters of the young avengers, Billy really couldn’t believe that he of all people was a super hero. It all just seemed so surreal. He mentally commented to himself, as his eyes began to dart from one poster to the next, each of the young avengers standing in a heroic pose of action. How is it that even after all this time it still seems like some dream? The young man mentally questioned himself, as he shifted his human form ever so slightly, so that he was laying to his side.
Pering towards his desk William’s eyes began to search for something specific standing rather tall, it was a sign for him a sign of utter accomplishment. No it was no trophy Billy knew from an early age that he was never going to get one of those, no the thing that the young man was looking for was something infinitely more important to him, then anything made of metal and gold. Slowly the young man’s eyes began to rest on what seemed to be a picture frame, his lips began to spread wide to show an outward expression of what could only be described as joy, as the young man’s orbs began to take in the image captured in a photo that lay within the sterling picture frame. The mere sight of this picture, always seemed to take the breath away from Billy, no matter what he was feeling this picture always seemed to manage to lighten his spirits, just like the person who the picture was taken of.
“Teddy!” Even mentioning his name like he just did was enough to get a small fit of giggles from Billy. Teddy was Billy’s boyfriend you see, but he was something infinitely more important than that, he was also his best friend, the one person in the entire world that Billy could count on no matter what the situation. Heaving a heavy sigh the young boy known t the world at large as Wiccan, arose from his bed with a light hearted jump, and made his way towards the door. As much as he could spend all day reminiscing about all th good times with Teddy, and believe you me the two had a lot of good times together, Wiccan had to be some place right now, and as much as he loved just wasting away time, Billy also knew that some things in life were just too important to miss. This meeting being one of those things.
Grabbing his jacket from the hook wall, the young man raced down the fleet of stairs with a speed that could of put his brother to shame, well not really but Wiccan loved to think it would. Exiting the house, Wiccan couldn’t help contain the excitement within him as he slammed the door behind him. Jetting across the street, the young man quickly ran into an alley way making sure no one was close by, or within sight distance. Once he was sure he was completely alone Wiccan began to will himself into the air, and sure enough his shoes began to slowly rise high and higher still into the air, until he was adecuately above the ground so as no one could see him.
You see Billy was a mutant, a mutant with odd magic like reality warping powers, powers that he had acquired from his mother, who happened to be the scarlet witch. Although Billy had only met the woman once in his life, a meeting that only lasted a few heartbeats might I add, he still felt an unimaginable connection to the woman. A connection he could never explain to anyone, no matter how hard he tried, and belive you me he has tried. Soaring through the air, like a hawk searching for his prey, Billy began to scan the ground below him for signs of his close friends. “This might be bad!” the young man spoke in a voice no louder than a whisper as he began to descend from the sky, landing just some feet away from the facility’s entrance.
He had been late to these meetings twice this week already, normally Billy was a responsible young man, he rarely was late to any event no matter how pressing it was, but lately something came over Billy. Nothing life threatening or anything, but with all the fights he and his friends got into, he simply began to reevaluate his life. Didn’t want to take things for granted anymore, and that realization made him question every part of his life, including the fact that he nor his brother had any idea where their mother was, and to be quite honest that did not sit well with the young mutant. Not well at all.
