Dodger Stadium is a large outdoor baseball stadium in Los Angeles, California at Chávez Ravine. It is located adjacent to Downtown Los Angeles. Dodger Stadium was privately financed at a cost of $23 million in 1962, and has been the home of the Los Angeles Dodgers Major League Baseball team since. The stadium is also on a hillside overlooking downtown Los Angeles, providing spectacular views of the city to the south; the green, tree-lined hills of Elysian Park to the north and east; and the San Gabriel Mountains beyond the outfield pavilions. Player polls regularly rate Dodger Stadium's playing surface as one of the best in the game.
