Located off the east coast of Africa, the island itself was built upon the enslavement of its mutant population until the regime was toppled by the X-Men. The United Nations ceded the nation to Magneto, who demanded the island remain a mutant-only nation. Recently, Genosha was reduced to rubble, along with its population, by Sentinels. Magneto and Charles Xavier strive to rebuild the nation to this day.
