Manhattan Manhattan is a borough of New York City. Although its population is only third largest of the five boroughs after Brooklyn and Queens, it is the most densely populated county in the United States. The Island of Manhattan is the largest section of the borough, which also includes numerous smaller islands and a small section of the North American mainland. Brooklyn Brooklyn, named for the Dutch city Breukele, is one of the five boroughs of New York City. An independent city until its consolidation into New York in 1898, Brooklyn is New York's most populous borough, with nearly 2.5 million residents. If all five boroughs were independent cities, Brooklyn would rank as the third most populous city in the United States, behind Los Angeles and Chicago. Though a part of New York City, Brooklyn maintains a distinct character of its own. Brooklyn is enriched by an almost unparalleled cultural diversity, a cutting-edge art scene, strong neighborhoods, and phenomenal Nineteenth Century architecture. Queens Queens is one of the five boroughs of New York City, USA. Geographically the largest borough in the city, Queens is home to many immigrants and two of New York's major airports. The borough of Queens is coterminous with Queens County, which is also the most ethnically diverse county in the United States. As of the 2000 census immigrants comprise 46% of its residents. With a population of 2.2 million it is the second most populous borough in New York City and the tenth most populous county in the United States. Queens was established in 1683 as one of the original 12 counties of New York and was named for the then-queen consort, Catherine of Braganza, wife of Charles II. The borough is often considered one of the more suburban boroughs of New York City. Neighborhoods in eastern Queens have a look and feel similar to the bordering suburbs of western Nassau County. In its western and central sections, however, Queens is home to many urban neighborhoods and several central business districts. Moderator: Uatu the Watcher Sub-boards: Calvary Cemetery, John F. The Bronx The Bronx is New York City's northernmost borough. It is the only one of the city's five boroughs situated on the United States mainland rather than on an island. As of 2005, the United States Census Bureau estimated that the borough's population was 1,357,589. The borough of the Bronx is coterminous with Bronx County. Although commonly known as "The Bronx", the official county name does not include the definite article "The". Named for Jonas Bronck, a Swedish sea captain and 1641 resident whose 500-acre farm between the Harlem River and the Aquahung comprises part of the modern borough, the Bronx is the fourth most populous of New York City's five boroughs. Bronx County is the fifth most populous county in the New York Metropolitan Area. Moderator: Uatu the Watcher Sub-boards: Bronx Zoo, Yankee Stadium |

Staten Island Staten Island is one of the five boroughs of New York City. Situated on an island of the same name that is the most geographically separate of the city's boroughs, Staten Island is the least populated of the five boroughs. With a population of just over 460,000, Staten Island is often called 'the forgotten borough' or 'the step-sister borough', as it is much less well-known than its four sisters, The Bronx, Queens, Manhattan, and Brooklyn. It is the smallest of the 5 boroughs in population, and third largest in area, being 59 square miles. By far the least populated, most ethnically homogeneous and most remote borough of New York City, Staten Island is primarily suburban. Some areas have an urban feel comparable to the areas of Eastern Queens and Northern Bronx. Moderator: Uatu the Watcher Sub-board: The Ravencroft Institute for the Criminally Insane |

Rumekistan After seceding from the former Soviet Union, the nation of Rumekistan was torn by sectarian and religious strife for many years. The United Kingdom The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (commonly known as the United Kingdom, the U.K., or Britain) is a country to the north-west of mainland Europe. It comprises the island of Great Britain, the north-east part of the island of Ireland and many small local islands. Northern Ireland is the only part of the UK with a land border, sharing it with the Republic of Ireland. Apart from this land border, the UK is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, the North Sea, the English Channel and the Irish Sea. The largest island, Great Britain, is linked to France by the Channel Tunnel. The United Kingdom is a parliamentary democracy and a constitutional monarchy comprising four constituent countries — England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The Crown Dependencies of the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, formally possessions of the Crown, are not part of the UK but form a federacy with it. Transia Transia is located in Europe between Transylvania, Romania and Serbia. More than ninety percent of its people live in one large town—East Transia—and a number of smaller villages located at the base of Mount Wundagore. Transia was a former section of Wallachia before that country integrated with Moldavia in 1857 to form Romania. Transia broke with the two larger countries and established its status as an independent state, and was recognized 20 years later as an autonomous, neutral nation. Transia is governed by an elected official—burgomeister—who is bound by law to follow the country's constitution to the letter. The nation's main source of income comes from the uranium found in and around Mt. Wundagore -- Herbert Edgar Wyndham funded a national non-profit trust with the money gathered from his uranium mine that still provides money for Transia to operate its government programs, and thus they have no need of outside investors or a tourist market. This, along with the (intentionally-fostered) negative international image, keeps many foreigners out of Transia. Moderator: Uatu the Watcher Sub-board: Mount Wundagore |

Citrusville Within Monroe County of Florida, Citrusville is an Everglades town of a largely conservative nature, to the point of running riot in the high school. The high school newspaper is called the Quill. The public library is a small shack, but has a large collection of occult writings in its archives. The town actually vanished into a rift at one point. The original hole was in the shape of a six-fingered hand, which was also the sign and the name of a cult that has plagued the mystical community for some time. The hole was first noted by the Avengers, who wisely called in for supernatural help. A makeshift team of Defenders, including Doctor Strange and Devil-Slayer, would first fight a possessed Man-Thing, then enter into a highly dangerous mystical rift in order to rescue the citizens. Today, Citrusville has since returned to its quiet natured business. Moderator: Uatu the Watcher |

Hydropolis Walter Newell approached Namor the Sub-Mariner with the idea of rebuilding Dr. Dorcas’ research station into an undersea environment where both Atlanteans and humans could live in peace. He believed it could be successful with effort from both races and funding from Oracle, Namor’s company. Using Oracle’s funds, Hyrdro-Base was salvaged from the bottom and converted into a floating instrument platform. Newell, looking for an additional funding source, and Lt. Langstrom was assigned to help oversee the deployment of Navy resources. Construction of the undersea dome and city, initially going by the name Aquaria, began. Cost estimates were upwards of two billion dollars and a timeframe of several months was put into place. The construction endured attacks from undersea villains, monsters, and species alike; all valiantly fought off by Namor and his allies. Finally, Walter Newell christened the completed city Hydropolis, considering that a more appropriate name than Aquaria as that name had connotations to aquariums. The finished city contained a biosphere that was actually a sealed ecosystem, covering over six acres to support life for air-breathing species beneath the waves. The city's inhabitants celebrated. The biosphere is composed of porous, thermal gas, able to maximize heat from the weak sunlight penetrating the ocean's depths. But most of the energy is gathered from geothermal vents and tidal generators. The domed city is a sealed ecosystem containing over 500 species of plants, animals, and insects and it's capable of sustaining 6000 people. The tropical biome, one of many rooms that was set up to mimic a particular environment from earth, contains a tropical paradise lifted right from the Florida Everglades, with animal life, artificial rain, and a waterfall. Lemuria Lemuria had been a small continent and group of islands in the Pacific Ocean 21,000 years ago, which was ruled by the Deviants—the center of their empire. When the Deviants attacked Atlantis, the Atlantean King Kamuu opened the magma-pits which were the city's means of heating. This caused a chain reaction which collapsed and sank the continent. At that same time, when the Second Host of the Celestials came to Earth, the Deviants attacked them. In retaliation, the Celestials sank Lemuria in what is now known as the "Great Cataclysm." The Eternal Ikaris guided a ship of humans to safety. As the continent of Lemuria sank, some of the Deviants managed to survive by escaping to underground cities that had been previously constructed on the southern half of the continent. They built a new underground capital city-state called “The City of Toads,” (or Lemuria-East) from which the sea was shut out. The city was flooded much later by one of the Celestials, but most of its population survived and rebuilt the city. Moderator: Uatu the Watcher |

Madripoor Madripoor is a small island nation south of Singapore in the Indonesian archipelago. Conquered by freebooters centuries ago, its heritage of piracy evolved into the present laissez-faire government, permitting virtually any business transaction provided that the status quo is not threatened. Its official name is the Principality of Madripoor, and its capital and single large city is Madripoor, which is divided between wealthy Hightown and impoverished, crime-ridden Lowtown. This serves to represent the extreme social inequality in Madripoor, described as "A place for the very rich and the very poor". As Madripoor was once a haven for pirates, that tradition is somewhat continued today with its lawless quality; the Principality does not allow other nations to extradite criminals. However, it is one of the business capitals of the Pacific Rim, with its own "Trade Center". Other locations of note in the Central Business District are the Bank of Hong Kong and the Bank of Malaysia, luxurious Sovereign Hotel, and the Prince's Palace, said to rival Versailles. Muir Island Muir Island is a small island off of the northern coast of Scotland. Muir Island's significance stems from the fact that it was the home of Earth's largest and most comprehensive mutant research complex, founded by Dr. Moira MacTaggert. Originally, she created the facility to help her son, Kevin, an extremely powerful and destructive mutant. Muir Island's facility once held a wealth of knowledge on various mutants, their abilities, and other mutant-related issues and concerns. It was also once the home base of the Excalibur. It was used by Professor X to store information on how to kill various X-Men if need be. The island has sometimes been used to imprison mutants for various reasons. The island and its research center have come under attack by many villains. The island's facilities were destroyed by Legion—who was, at the time, possessed by the Shadow King. Although rebuilt, the Muir Island Genetic Research Center was destroyed again in an attack by Mystique and Sabretooth—fatally injuring Moira MacTaggert in the process. To this day, the island and its facilities remain derelict. Moderator: Uatu the Watcher |

This group of Sentinels is unique in that they are piloted armors as opposed to the traditional robotic Sentinel. Stamford Stamford, Connecticut. The powder keg of the Civil War. It is one of the top four largest cities in the state with a population no bigger than 125,000. It was stricken with tragedy, now called the “Stamford Incident,” when a group of superheroes, The New Warriors, battled a group of villains; using the event to be filmed for a reality television show. The supervillain, Nitro, exploded and destroyed a local school and the surrounding neighborhood; killing all of the New Warriors except Speedball. The explosion also killed 612 citizens of the town, including children at the school. Ground Zero of the destruction is now a sight of mourning and remembrance. Moderator: Uatu the Watcher |

Blue Area of the Moon An artificial, self-sustaining Earthlike environment on the far side of Earth’s Moon. Created 100,000 years ago as part of a competition between two alien races; the Kree and the Cotati. The Skrulls, then a benevolent race, moderated this contest, whose goal was to determine the worthiness of both races by discovering which could create a more suitable habitation. The Cotati won the contest by creating a long-term sustainable ecosystem, but the Kree angrily rebelled and overthrew the Skrulls, stole their starship, and initiated the millennia-long conflict now known as the Kree-Skrull War, which would force the Skrulls to become a society of warriors. What remains standing today are the ruins of the city and ecosystem that were demolished during the outbreak of the war. Moderator: Uatu the Watcher Sub-board: The Watcher’s Citadel |

Chandilar Home of the Shi'ar, also called the Aerie. It is a species of aliens that are humanoid of an avian descent; they resemble humans with feathered crests atop their heads in lieu of hair. The Shi'ar Empire, also known as the Imperium, is a vast collection of alien species, cultures and worlds situated close to the Skrull and Kree Empires, and alongside them, is one of the three main alien empires of the universe. The Shi'ar race originally created the empire and still control most of the Imperium's key offices, though the empire has grown to include hundreds of thousands of different sentient species and worlds. Its center of power is located in the "throneworld" Chandilar. The Shi'ar Empire is one of the most advanced and expansive civilizations in the universe, spanning galaxies. It is mainly an economic co-operative with trade being its driving force. It seems to be an empire where not all races have the same rights, as the Aerie appear to have a disproportionate influence on its governance. It is nominally ruled over by a high council, of which Lilandra is the current leader, which is representative of all the alien races that encompass the Empire. However in practice it appears that in most situations the Majestrix exercises strong executive powers and can institute policy pretty much by decree. The Shi'ar has largely occupied the role of peacekeeper in interstellar affairs. Moderator: Uatu the Watcher |

Counter-Earth When many of Earth-616’s heroes sacrificed their lives to defeat Onslaught, Franklin Richards unconsciously warped reality to create a pocket; within this universe, those heroes who had sacrificed themselves were reborn on an Earth similar to their own. Due to the intervention of the Celestial Ashema, Franklin was forced to choose the one world which would survive. Ashema briefly bonded with Franklin; this connection to humanity convinced her to allow Franklin’s pocket universe to continue, though she demanded the return of both worlds’ residents to their original homes. As the heroes returned to their world, a rogue Celestial named Apostate, the Dreaming Celestial, intervened and altered the pocket universe’s Earth to create chaos. Tectonic plates shifted and elevated as governments collapsed. Doctor Doom returned to this pocket Earth a year later, where he was rescued by Samantha Dunbar whom he soon empowered as Lancer. Doom conquered most of the pocket Earth’s surface, instilling order where chaos had previously existed. With the aid of Ashema, who was significantly depowered by the Apostate, Doom moved the pocket Earth to Earth-616’s solar system, 300 million kilometers opposite the Earth’s orbit around the Sun, where an earlier Counter-Earth used to be. After Doom left Counter-Earth, Lancer took control of his forces; but lacking Doom’s iron will, multiple rebellions ensued, both military and super-human. With the arrival of two cosmic entities, Doctor Doom returned, once more, and thwarted their apocalyptic efforts yet left much destruction in the process after he departed. Counter-Earth. Hala Home world of the Kree. The Kree, also known as the Ruul, are a scientifically and technologically advanced militaristic alien race. They are native to planet Hala in the Large Magellanic Cloud. True Kree resemble humans almost exactly, with the exception of sky-blue skin. Kree have a higher strength level than that of a human, and require more nitrogen to breathe comfortably. The Kree were an evolutionary stagnant race. In an attempt to further their development, some Kree bred with other species, producing the 'pink-skinned' Kree, who are similar in appearance to Caucasian humans. These pinks, also called 'whites', eventually outnumbered the blue-skin Kree. Taa II Taa II, also called Worldship and New Taa, is the solar system-sized, Möbius strip-shaped, home of the cosmic entity Galactus. After emerging from his metamorphosis millions of years after the Big Bang, Galactus consumed the nearby planet Archeopia — the first world to fall prey to his cosmic hunger. Galactus felt compelled to create a monument to his dead homeworld Taa, which existed in the previous universe, and to the ravaged planet Archeopia. Galactus used the remains of Archeopia as the basis from which he created the enormous Taa II. Galactus intended for Taa II to surpass any natural world in size, beauty and splendor. Based on accounts from the few beings to step foot within it and survive the experience, such as Reed Richards, Galactus easily accomplished his goals. Indeed, Taa II is so massive that several planets and even a star are held captive by its gravitational pull. Additionally, Reed Richards has speculated that Taa II is the greatest single source of energy in the entire universe. Moderator: Uatu the Watcher |

Titan Long ago, after a civil war had erupted amongst the Eternals, between the factions of Kronos and Uranos. The war was would not be forgotten, as Kornos’ force prevailed over his warlike brother Uranos. Fresh from defeat, Uranos and his followers fled Earth to colonize Uranos, while some tried to rekindle the war on Earth but they were attacked by a passing Kree ship and forced to land on Saturn’s moon, Titan; where they built another colony. Titan is the largest moon of Saturn and the second largest moon in the solar system, after Jupiter's moon Ganymede. It is roughly 50% larger than Earth's moon by diameter, and is larger by diameter and mass than all known dwarf planets. It wasn’t long before war erupted on Titan, wiping out all life save for one; Sui-San. Sui—San was greated by A’lars, son of Kronos, who left earth after his brother was chosen over him to lead the Eternals; in fear of another civil war. Zenn-La Zenn-La, also known as Deneb III, is a planet located in the Deneb System in the Milky Way galaxy, approximately 3,000 light years from Earth. Inhabited by Zenn-Lavians, humanoid in appearance, have lifespans of thousands of years. In ancient times, Zenn-La was home to the barbaric and violent polytheistic Zenn-Lavians. Their Age of Warfare lasted ten thousand centuries. In desperation to preserve their race, the Zenn-Lavians made science their god. Zenn-La City was the first to give itself over to science; it was home to Norrin Konn, later revered as the "Father of Zenn-La". A female warlord believed that embracing science would strip the people of their passion, and fought a bloody civil war against those trusting in science. She united the warring nations, amassing the greatest army the planet had ever seen. The Warlord died while trying to pilot a flying craft, and her generals dispersed. Her followers then decided to join the rest of the population and follow the path of science, realizing that if they continued their course, their species would be extinct within a few generations. Over the next hundred centuries, the Zenn-Lavians experienced the Golden Age of Reason, and overcame war, poverty, crime, disease, and want. Their lifespans were dramatically increased. In the Age of Space Travel, space explorers became their greatest heroes, who visited a thousand galaxies. After they had probed much of known space, the Zenn-Lavians withdrew to their homeworld. They grew apathetic and indulgent in their utopia, with all of their needs cared for by machines. When the Devourer of Worlds, Galactus, came to consume Zenn-La, the people had no defense against him. One man, Norrin Radd, made a pact with the Planet Eater to become his herald. In return, Galactus would not harm Zenn-La. Radd was transformed into the Silver Surfer, and left his homeworld for the stars. In 1947, a species known only as the Other came to Zenn-La and completely destroyed every person and all signs of civilization on the planet. Galactus and t Moderator: Uatu the Watcher |

Mojoverse - Mojoworld In the dimension later known as the Mojoverse, the dominant lifeforms were invertebrates called Spineless Ones, able to move only by crawling and driven mad by television transmissions received from Earth. The scientist Arize developed a process that would graft Spineless Ones, giving them mobility, though most refused. Arize also created a humanoid race, much like those seen in the broadcasts except with three fingers, hoping to inspire his fellow citizens to receive spines and walk. The Spineless Ones, however, grew to hate humanoids, both in the broadcasts and in Arize’s created race. Eventually Mojo, an incredibly obese Spineless One who used a mechanical platform with legs and a weaponized tail to walk, came to power and constructed a society based on television projections. Discovering that controlling the broadcasts to his race’s minds and getting high ratings meant more power and control of the government, Mojo enslaved he humanoid race and began featuring them in various productions. He spent the following years keeping his ratings up and reveling in his control of his dimension, which became known as Mojoworld or the Mojoverse. Some people would visit the astral plane by accident, simply by getting out of bed while the physical body remains sleeping. The Microverse The Microverse was originally one of a number of dimensions accessed via shrinking beyond the limits of normal existence in the Earth dimension. These realms are not actually sub-atomic, as initially thought, but just accessed via the energy released by such shrinking. It is not actually the microverses that are microscopic in size but rather the nexuses which make them accessible. It is thus theoretically possible to enter the same microverse from different points on Earth. The volume of these microverses are contained within spacewalls which can only be breached at certain points. It is these breaches that create accessible portals. However, due to their nature, there is often a size discrepancy when transporting back and forth to one of these realms. Originally, many microverses existed within the Marvel Multiverse. The most commonly visited is the one containing the regions known as Sub-Atomica and the Micronauts Homeworld. This Microverse was populated to a large extent by a group of refugee starfarers from a doomed planet, Ithaka. Led by their leader, Wayfinder, they eventually settled on Earth. They were displaced, yet again, by demons. With the help of The Sword in The Star, they were relocated to one of the Microverses. They eventually became the ancestors of many of the races located there. These multiple microverses no longer exist. A conflict between Baron Karza and Thanos had resulted in all of the realms of the Microverse becoming merged into a single dimension referred to as the Microverse. Moderator: Uatu the Watcher |

Olympus Olympus is a small other-dimensional planetary body whose nature and physics are different from those of planetary bodies in the Earthly dimension. While the gravity of Olympus is roughly analogous to Earth's, common Olympian matter is considerably denser than Earth's on the Average. Consequently, a chair made of Olympian wood would be more massive, heavier, and more durable than a chair made of analogous Earthly wood. Olympus serves as the home to the Olympian gods. It is no bigger than a large city. This relatively flat asteroid-like landmass is suspended in space, and is surrounded by what its inhabitants call “the Abyss.” Olympus is linked to at least four other dimensions. The dimension bridge between Olympus and Earth passes through the principal nexus between Olympus and the Earth dimension, which is located somewhere on Mount Olympus in Greece. There is also a nexus between Olympus and Hades, the otherdimensional land of the dead, and an apparently artificial nexus between Olympus and Asgard. Finally, there is a bride leading to a larger realm, apparently in yet another dimension, from which the Olympian race may have originated. Olympus itself seems to be the home of the major Olympian gods and their servants; possibly other beings of ancient Greek and Roman myth live across this bridge. Otherplace – Demonic Limbo Limbo's physical laws are primarily magical, though laws of the ordinary universe (such as electromagnetism and gravity) normally apply within its bounds. It has an ecology composed primarily of demons of various sizes, strengths, and intellects. It is said that its ether is much thinner than that of the normal universe, allowing for a greater spectrum of magical powers and effects. All demons within it are magical creatures that possess spell making abilities to a greater or lesser degree. Although Otherplace has a linear history, time within it is not rigid. Many points in its past and future are connected through naturally occurring temporal rifts, and its present is relative to the individual. Its history can be changed by travel through these rifts, but for some reason this is rare. Limbo is traditionally ruled by a Supreme Sorcerer, either a demonic native or an entity from another universe, often Earth's. Limbo's appearance and physical laws are highly variable, and determined by the power and personal taste of its ruler. The reality of Limbo is generated by a single deposit of a magical metal called promethium. In Limbo it takes the form of a giant animal heart, hidden in a cavern deep below its surface. Removal of the promethium to another dimension will cause Limbo to vanish. Moderator: Uatu the Watcher Sub-boards: Belasco’s Castle, The Wastelands |

White Hot Room The White Hot Room is a realm that serves both as the afterlife and a base of operations for the Phoenix. The White Hot Room also resides in the M'Krann Crystal which is a nexus of realities and contains a Neutron galaxy. It is the alpha and the omega, the beginning and end of all-- where the physical universe merges with the domains of the spirit and imagination. When beings die they go inside Death's towers, that are compartmentalized, where all beings go to experience their own version of the afterlife. But the Phoenix exists outside of the towers to do her work. The White Hot Room is also where a Phoenix may go if they do not instantaneously resurrect when killed and do Phoenix Work while they await to incubate and be reborn anew from a Phoenix Egg. It appears as a tower or cities of towers floating in a space like realm except, but more predominantly, it is simply a bright white light. Moderator: Uatu the Watcher |

The Multiverse The multiverse is the numerous and vast collection of all existing alternate universes—even the universe of Earth-616. Each universe is different and unique but contains a similar nature and a universal hierarchy. Moderator: Uatu the Watcher |
